The first signs of spring are always a true relief! Tulips start poking out of the ground, almost is if they want to come out and play. It’s light outside when I wake up, making it slightly easier to get out of bed. And at long last, I can shed the layers of clothes that make me feel 10 lbs heavier. Does anyone else feel this way?
Aside from the noticeable changes in my surroundings, it’s so much fun to change things up with my outfits. These are my favourite spring trends along with some items that I love this season. Shop them below :)!
Wraps and Ruffles
These skirts are totally giving off salsa/merengue vibes throughout the season. This is probably my favourite current trend because it’s so feminine and flirty. Ruffle’s on a skirt don’t look so frilly that it’s overbearing, but they’re fun enough to provide a creative flare to any simple top or blouse.
Round Bags
This trend is super popular right now and definitely gives off vintage vibes. The trend was definitely started by the oh so popular Cult Gaia Arc Bag which I first blogged about (here). The best thing about these bags is their versatility, especially the one’s in neutral colors. Their unique shape makes a statement without being too flashy.
Espadrilles
Ever since middle school when my mom bought me my first pair of espadrilles from Payless, I’ve always liked these shoes. They give off an earthy spring vibe while still being chic.
Belts that pop
It’s no surprise that the Gucci Marmount belt is on this list. It’s been trending for a little over half a year and wildly popular….but what’s not to like? It’s totally vintage without being too gaudy. This belt can immediately dress up an outfit.
Cat Eye Sunnies
Queen Bey kicked off this trend with her dashing look at the 2018 Grammy’s. These retro glasses are definitely reminiscent of the 50’s and 60’s. Their sleek shape add a more playful touch to any simple outfit. I’m definitely a proponent of sunglass framing one’s face. There’s nothing worse than looking like a child with gigantic toy glasses on. Of all the styles, the cat eye design tends to mirror our natural eye shape. Just be warned, these glasses are on the small side and may not work for everyone.
Rain Boots
April showers bring may flowers…..and very wet feet if you don’t have the proper footwear. Rain boots are essential because spring weather can be terribly unpredictable!
