Reverse Culture Shock: Adapting to American Life

Since returning to the U.S. I find myself coping with a wide range of emotions. There’s the initial joy of being back to familiar foods and reuniting with the faces of loved ones. My family has enjoyed their handmade gifts from Ghana and I finally got to taste that iconic Popeye’s Chicken Sandwich I’d been craving for ages. Still, there are more subtle ways that I know I’ve changed, or rather, Ghana’s changed me.

Vacationing at The Royal Senchi Hotel| Ghana

Royal Senchi Hotel

This resort has a strong reputation for being Ghana’s premier luxury location for vacationing. Even locally in Accra, people’s ears perk up when they hear the name ‘Royal Senchi’. While it is a nice resort, I can’t say that it completely lives up to the hype. Of course, one’s perspective for hotel quality all depends on their particular reference point. Let me share a little bit about the hotel through my eyes.
